There is less than a month left for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Meanwhile, according to the latest report, there will be no reserve day for the second semi-final in the mega event. However, four hours of extra time have been kept for the match.

T20 World Cup semi-finals will be possible despite rain

T20 World Cup 2024 is going to start from June 2 in USA and West Indies. The first semi-final match of the tournament will be played in Trinidad on June 26, which will start at 6 am Indian time on June 27. A reserve day has been kept for this.

On the other hand, the second semi-final will start in Guyana on June 27 at 10:30 am local time (8:30 pm Indian time). According to the report of Cricbuzz, there will be no reserve day for this match, while 4 extra hours have been given.

That means even if there is a possibility of rain, the match can still be ended on the same day. This means that if it rains before the match, the umpires can wait for about 8 hours. After this, the title match of the tournament is to be played on June 29.

“All four teams have absolutely equal chances to finish the game,” a source told Cricbuzz. “For performance reasons, it was decided to allocate additional time for the second semi to ensure that teams do not have to play and travel on consecutive days.”
